WATCH: A message from the Deputy President

First published24 April 2025

A new vlog from NFU Cymru Deputy President Abi Reader is now available to watch.

In this update, Abi discusses our concerns around biosecurity at the border and the threat of illegal imported produce to our farming industry. The Livestock and Dairy Board Chairs have jointly written to the Secretary of State for Wales, highlighting members' concerns. Abi says that it's good to see that Defra have now banned the import of meat via pedestrians, because any meat coming into the country is a threat.

Abi also talks about the NFU's ongoing work on changes to Inheritance Tax and urges members to get in touch with their local MP, either by email or by inviting them out on farm - to ensure we get our messages out.
