The event showcased how NFU Cymru and the NFU are working for members and highlighted all the tools available to promote and sell NFU membership to farmers and growers. It also recognised those Group Secretaries who have hit or exceeded the targets set for them at the start of the NFU membership year in November.

Dolgellau NFU Cymru Group Secretaries Mair Jones and Gemma Williams have been crowned top achievers across Wales and England for the 2019/2020 membership year at the recent NFU National Achievement Awards.

John Mercer, NFU Cymru Director said: “I’d like to congratulate the NFU Cymru Group Secretaries who were nominated at this year’s National Achievement Awards. A special mention must go to Mair and Gemma, who have worked tirelessly over the last membership year to ensure their members are given the best service and support and winning this National Award is an amazing achievement.

“Without Group Secretaries we wouldn’t have such a strong membership base on the ground and I’d like to thank each and every one of them for their support over the last year. I should also mention the contribution that our County Advisers make to our membership performance."

On receiving their award, Mair and Gemma said: “We were shocked and honoured to have received this award and would like to thank our loyal members in Meirionnydd who put their faith in NFU Cymru to deliver on their behalf.

“We also need to thank the amazing staff we have in the office at Dolgellau, Bethan, Leah, Einir and Grisial, who together with Iestyn our County Adviser, helped us achieve this.

“We are also proud to be supported by excellent teams in Builth and Stoneleigh.”
