Brecon Beacons National Park Authority (BBNPA) has recently launched its ‘Future Beacons: The Management Plan for the Brecon Beacons National Park 2022-2027’, a document outlining the organisation’s 25 years vision for the people, communities and landscapes in the region.
Ensure agriculture's voice is heard
Given the number of farming businesses living and working within the Brecon Beacons National Park, NFU Cymru is urging its members to contribute their views to the consultation and ensure that agriculture’s voice is heard.
NFU Cymru County Adviser Stella Owen said: “Welsh farmers play an integral role in everyday life in the Brecon Beacons National Park. Whether it’s maintaining landscapes that attract millions of tourists every year, enhancing biodiversity and nature, driving the local economy, championing our culture or feeding the people who call this area home. Agriculture is at the very heart of what makes the Brecon Beacons National Park such a tremendous place to live, work and visit.
Accurately reflected
"It’s crucial the industry’s contribution to life here is accurately reflected, so for that reason we need farmers throughout the national park to contribute their views to this important consultation process.”
