Representatives from NFU Energy recently discussed the Energy Bill Relief Scheme with our members in Ceredigion.

Following the announcement of the government's new Energy Bill Relief Scheme, guidance has been published on what this support package means for businesses.

In early September the former Prime Minister, Liz Truss, announced that in addition to a two-year price freeze for domestic energy consumers, support would also be afforded to businesses.

A new six-month scheme was announced, offering support equivalent to domestic energy consumers. Similar to the policy interventions we saw during the Covid-19 pandemic, the new Energy Bill Relief Scheme is a high-level scheme designed to cover a magnitude of economic and non-domestic organisations.
