A graphic promoting the competiton

Are you a farmer, lover of the countryside or budding photographer who enjoys capturing moments that showcase the best of Welsh food and farming?

If so, why not enter NFU Cymru’s new photography competition, launched ahead of this year’s Welsh Farming Week (9 – 13 June), for the chance to win a Ridgeline Smock.

The competition, open to entrants living in Wales, is looking for photographs that capture the true essence of the Welsh farming industry and all who work within it.

Past entries have shown the true scale of work taking place on farms across Wales; work that is helping to feed our ever growing population, work that is enhancing our wildlife and biodiversity, work that is helping to retain jobs in rural communities, work that is drawing hundreds of thousands of visitors to Wales and work that ultimately embodies the heart of rural life.

NFU Cymru President and competition judge, Aled Jones said: “I thoroughly enjoy judging this competition. We’ve historically had hundreds of entries, and each photo has showcased a small area of our wonderful industry; from the beautiful landscape and its seasonal changes to the stock on our farms and the people who work to produce it. I look forward to seeing the array of entries once again this year.”

This year we also have a guest judge, Anne Dunn, News Reporter at Farmers Weekly. Anne said: “Welsh food and farming have incredible stories to tell - stories that resonate with producers and consumers alike. I look forward to seeing them captured for this competition, which will no doubt showcase the best Wales has to offer.”
