Farmers Weekly columnist Will Evans will be the guest speaker at the upcoming NFU Cymru Anglesey County Conference.
The meeting will take place on Thursday 23rd January at Nant yr Odyn, Turnpike Nant, Llangefni LL77 7YE. Hot beef rolls will be available from 7pm, with the meeting getting underway from 7.30pm.
Guest speaker Will Evans farms alongside his family on a beef cattle and arable farm near Wrexham. In recent years he has written a popular weekly column – Will’s World – for the Farmers Weekly. Between 2017 and 2021 Will was the host of the Rock & Roll Farming podcast, where he’d interview people connected with food and farming from across the world.
Will was Chairman of the Oxford Farming Conference for 2024 and is a current governor at Harper Adams University. Will is also a Farming Community Ambassador for the Farming Community Network and has used this platform to advocate for positive conversations around mental health in UK agriculture. In his spare time, Will is also a coach for a junior girls’ rugby team.
Attendees at the meeting will also hear from NFU Cymru President Aled Jones, who will provide an update on a busy year of lobbying for NFU Cymru and discuss what 2025 may hold.
NFU Cymru Anglesey County Chairman Richard Rogers said: “I’m delighted that Will Evans has accepted our invitation to come to Ynys Môn to speak at our annual county conference. Given the wide variety of off-farm roles Will has held and the farmers he’s spoken to from across Wales, the UK and beyond, I think this promises to be a really insightful evening.”
A warm welcome is extended to members and non-members wishing to attend the event.
