The meetings, taking place over the course of a fortnight, coincide with the virtual Royal Welsh Show and replace the face-to-face meetings that the union would usually have with MSs during the summer show.
NFU Cymru President John Davies said: “The Royal Welsh Show would usually be an opportunity for NFU Cymru officeholders and staff to meet with a large selection of politicians and stakeholders to discuss pertinent issues within the industry. However, as we’re unable to meet this year, we organised a series of briefings with all political parties so ensure the issues that matter most to our members are heard by their representatives.
“These meetings are also an opportunity to engage with the new Senedd MSs and bring them up to date on the key policy issues. We’ve had a good discussion on a number of issues including bovine TB, water quality, future agricultural support, climate change and forestry/woodlands.
“I’d like to thank those who have given up their time to take part in these sessions and we hope to continue working closely with these politicians over the course of the Senedd term.”
