The meeting will be held at Ruthin Farmers Auction, Parc Glasdir, Ruthin LL15 1PB, with hot beef rolls served from 7pm and the meeting getting underway at 7.30pm.
Those in attendance will hear from Professor Prysor Williams of the School of Environmental and Natural Sciences at Bangor University. Raised on an upland livestock farm, Professor Williams still farms today alongside his research and lecturing at Bangor University. Professor Williams has an academic focus on many aspects of the relationship between agriculture and the environment, most notably around the challenges and opportunities facing livestock systems in reaching net zero greenhouse gas emissions.
NFU Cymru Clwyd County Chairman David Williams said: “We are extremely grateful that Professor Williams has accepted our invitation to speak at our upcoming NFU Cymru Clwyd County Conference on Tuesday 7th January. As farmers we are keenly aware of the effects of climate change and the impact it is having on our farms. Professor Williams is uniquely placed to outline the challenges facing the sector, as well as highlighting the unique role our farms can play in carbon capture, too. It promises to be an informative evening where members and non-members are welcome to join us.”
