Farmland with pond in Brecon

Over 80% of the land area of Wales is farmed and Welsh farmers play a key role in maintaining and enhancing our natural environment and supporting the provision of a full range of ecosystem services such as habitat creation and management, carbon storage, clean water and water storage to reduce flood impacts alongside our core food production role.

Through our Rural Affairs Board, NFU Cymru seeks to promote the positive contribution that farmers make to the environment.
